Behind the lens
Hi, I’m Erin
I’ve always considered myself an observer, someone drawn to light.
The way it slips through trees at dusk. The way it settles across stone. The way it transforms something ordinary into something quietly extraordinary.
Photography began with that fascination: atmosphere, stillness, noticing what others might pass by. Even now, I never tire of studying it. And there is always more to study.
For the past 7 years, I’ve photographed professionally, refining a style that feels immersive, tonal, and cinematic. My work is shaped by landscape as much as by subject — dense forest greens, textured rock, drifting snow, soft haze at golden hour. I’m less interested in perfection and more interested in presence. In the quiet lift of a gaze. In the strength and softness that coexist within a dog.
Outside of photography, I love cycling (my favorite way to see a new country), comedy (the craft of a well turned phrase), and hot yoga (love a workout where you can lay on the ground and question everything at the end). Honorable mentions for iced coffee, tofu, and small dogs in backpacks. Traveling all over the US in my campervan has deepened my love for landscape and light — for watching how the world shifts at sunrise and softens at dusk.
Long before photography became my profession, dogs were at the center of my life. I’ve been caring for dogs for over 10 years — learning their language, their sensitivities, their humor, their depth. My journey here has been gradual: years of taking bad photos of good dogs, a ton of practice, refining my eye, studying composition, and mastering the editing process to bring the vision in my head fully to life.
At its core, my work is about reverence — for light, for nature, and for the dogs who move through it.
For the fleeting seasons we share with them — never long enough.
The Mutt
Matchmaker
project
The Mutt Matchmaker name was born out of wanting to turn adoptable dogs into works of art — to help them get seen and adopted.
I still block most of my month to dedicate free photography time to the dogs that need to be showcased the most.
I work with local shelters to take adoptable dogs out for the day, give them a mini adventure in nature, and shoot our time together.
Follow on socials to support the project!
HIS BEST SHOT — After a pup cup and walk, we hopped in my van and headed to Discovery park for our little photography session. Udon was adopted recently after our time together.
